The Twenty First Summer Symposium In Real Analysis
June 18-21, 1997, Chattanooga, Tennessee
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, UTC, will host
the Twenty First Summer Symposium In Real Analysis, June 18-
21, 1997. One-hour lectures will be given by:
Karen Brucks (Milwaukee),
Udayan Darji (Louisville),
Hajrudin Fejzic (San Bernardino),
Krishna Garg (Edmonton).
Others are invited to contribute 20 minute presentations.
Substantial time will be reserved for discussion of open
problems. The scientific program will begin on the morning
of Wednesday, June 18th, so most will want to arrive on the
17th.
There will be a registration fee of 60 dollars to help cover
the expenses, including the traditional Friday banquet.
Coffee and sweet rolls will be served during breaks. The
University Cafeteria will be open for breakfast and lunch
each day.
Accommodations at the Lockmiller Apartments, on the UTC
campus, will be reserved. The apartments consist of two
bedrooms with a bath in the middle, plus some kitchen
possibilities. The rates per person per night are as
follows:
1 per apartment - 42.50 dollars,
2 per apartment - 20.00 dollars,
3 per apartment - 16.50 dollars,
4 per apartment - 14.00 dollars.
There is a good chance that NSF funding will cover part of
the Lockmiller expenses. Reservations at Lockmiller must be
made by June 1, 1997. Please write or e-mail to H. Miller
for Lockmiller reservations.

located in downtown Chattanooga, one mile from UTC. Days Inn
is very modern, offers free parking, free breakfast and
costs 55 dollars/night/room + tax (two or three beds for the
same price). Please make your own reservations (if you are
not staying at Lockmiller - on campus), for the 55 dollars
rate-reservations at Days Inn must be made by May 18, 1997.
There is easy access to Chattanooga by air - the airport is
about 10 miles from campus. There is no rail transportation
to Chattanooga. Greyhound Bus services Chattanooga.
Chattanooga lies on the north-south interstate highway I-75.
Maps showing you all local interstate connections, as well
as campus and city maps will be mailed to you in a
registration package, going out next week.
