What is the Math Workshop?

The Math Workshop is a one semester, non-credit course designed to prepare students to take College Algebra. It is intended for students who have successfully completed High School Algebra II, but did not meet the requirements for College Algebra.  The workshop meets four hours each week. Monday, Wednesday, Friday (3 hours plus one hour of open lab) or Tuesday,  Thursday (3 hours plus one hour of open lab). Attendance is expected and tracked by scanning each students WVU Id.

It is to your benefit to keep your class load at no more than 15 or 16 credit hours while taking the workshop. Even though this course is non-credit it requires four hours per week. There will also be several hours of work to be completed outside of class each week.

This course is based on mastery. You must demonstrate that you have mastered the material by completing the course with a 80% or higher on all assignments and exams.  Exams for Spring 2010 will be given on Monday and Wednesday between 3:30pm and 7:30pm.

The fee for the workshop is $200.00. This fee is non-refundable unless the student withdraws from the University prior to the start of the semester.
